Privacy policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
Jeff B for Mayor is the campaign committee of Jeff Boarini, candidate for Mayor of Evanston, Illinois. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have a question about it, write to us at JeffBForMayor@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect what you choose to give us:
- The volunteer form: your name, email address and ZIP code and, if you add them, your mobile number, your ward, how you would like to help, any note to Jeff, and whether you agree to get texts from us.
- The contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Email you send us and anything you include in it.
Right now, sending either form opens your own email program with your answers filled in. Nothing you type is stored on this website, and your answers reach us only if you send that email.
This site has no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies. Like any website, it also receives some technical information automatically: our hosting provider records each visit’s IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and we use those records only to keep the site secure and working. The site’s typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser also asks Google’s servers for them, which shows Google your IP address. Google Fonts sets no cookies.
Donations
You can give online through ActBlue or by mailing a check. Online gifts are made on ActBlue’s secure site, not on this one, and ActBlue handles what you enter there under its own privacy policy. ActBlue passes your contribution details to the campaign, and if you mail a check, we record the details you send with it. Illinois law requires us to keep the name and address of every contributor and to report contributors whose gifts pass certain amounts, including their occupation and employer above a higher threshold, to the Illinois State Board of Elections. Those reports are public.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and messages.
- To organize volunteers and follow up on how you offered to help.
- To send you campaign news and requests to take part, if you gave us your contact information for that.
- To meet our legal obligations, including campaign finance reporting.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not give our volunteer or contact lists to other campaigns or organizations. We share information only:
- with companies that provide services to the campaign, such as the companies that host this website and our email, and any texting service we use, so they can provide those services to us;
- when the law requires it, such as the contribution reports described above; and
- with your permission.
Text messages
We send text messages only if you agree to receive them, for example by checking the box on the volunteer form. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their own marketing.
To stop getting campaign email, use the unsubscribe link if the email has one, reply and ask, or write to us at JeffBForMayor@gmail.com. We will take you off our list.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to JeffBForMayor@gmail.com. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep it, as it does for contribution records.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as the campaign needs it, and contribution records for as long as Illinois law requires.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us and limit who on the campaign can see it. No website or online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Other websites
This site links to others, including ActBlue, the Cook County Clerk, the Illinois State Board of Elections and our social media pages. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
